Some work was being done on my apartment and I needed a convenient place to stay overnight. I didn't know about Talaris at all, and was thrilled. It was exactly what I wanted and more so. The room was comfortable, the staff was wonderful, the surroundings lovely, the location very convenient. I will certainly keep it in mind for myself in the future (it felt like a vacation) and for friends who come to town. Oh, and I particularly appreciated the ecological touches (real cups for the coffee in the room, not Styrofoam for instance).
It was spacious and secluded, even though we were in the middle of Seattle. The staff was friendly and had a sense of humor. The price was excellent.
The room seemed a bit small but that's all that I didn't like. Everything else was great.
It's in a beautuful, natural setting in the midst of the city. Conducive to early morning walks and quiet comfort, still not far from city-center and many amenities of city life.
The lodging was built as an adjunct to the conferencce center and is still run as such. Room size and housekeeping (towels/soaps) seem to be designed for the single traveler (conference attendee). Still, I consider it a "find".
Beautiful grounds and the feeling of being in a forest in the city. The whole concept of the place as a think tank designed for isolation from everyday concerns makes it a very unique place. The staff were all outstandingly friendly and helpful.
The climate control system in the rooms was difficult to regulate. We stayed twice and the rooms had different thermostats that responded more like we were giving them suggestions, rather than specific temperatures.
Gorgeous grounds, great neighborhood, friendly and helpful staff, nice breakfast, easy parking, dogs allowed.
Room needed some updates (old baseboard heaters) and the HVAC was a little noisy (we had a dog with us and were in a dog-friendly room, so we may have been given a room that was not recently updated for that reason).
Lovely surroundings. Nearness to University Village. Convenient to all of city.
Mattress like waterbed. Not appropriate for elderly, as they have joint problems.
The parking was far from the room... but that is all I can think of I did not like.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The service was very efficient and always with a very warm and genuine smile. The location was great (near the University and may restaurants). The water fountains were beautiful.
We rented 2 different rooms during our 3-day stay. The first one was great. The second one had some constant clicking and bumping sounds coming from the roof (we were on the second floor so there is no one above us), from the walls and from the air-conditioning unit. We guessed that those noises came probably from the HVAC system. The first night we could not sleep well because of them. The second night, we kept the CD player in the room that comes with soft Piano music on the whole night and it helped a bit.
staff, service, location and settings.
We only stayed for two nights and we like everything we experienced.
The staff was very friendly and most helpful. It is totally quiet, and the surroundings are gorgeous and tranquil. It is a gem of a place secluded, yet close to the city. I definitely return.
location/within our price range. Quiet and clean. relaxing
large tree limbs needed to be taken away. Looked like they have been mowed around for a while.
I loved the location as we were looking for an apartment for my daughter and this area was central to our search. The beautiful grounds make you forget you are in a big city!
The staff were excellent. The grounds and serenity was fabulous. Our suite was spacious and quiet. Although the bedroom , which I understand is a stand alone rental , is quite small. The rooms were quiet and peaceful.
Hmm we had a great time however, this is not a 4 star hotel. The traditional amenities associated with 4 stars are missing. No spa, no fitness center, no pool or hot tub . As stated before if a client were to rent merly the bedroom I believe they would be disappointed. On the other hand the suite
The carpets were stained and the rooms were out of date. The grounds were lovely and well kept. I would stay there again.
The staff was amazing, especially Bob. He was very friendly, responsive, and helpful. The morning breakfast was wonderful! Thank you!
The water pressure in the showers was hardly enough to get my hair clean. In addition, the hair dryers were vintage and took double/triple time to dry hair.
